Samsung Galaxy S8 Release Date Delay Confirmed

In February 2016, Samsung revealed the current generation flagship phone, the Galaxy S7, at MWC. As a result, all the smartphone enthusiasts believed that the next-gen model would be unveiled at the same month and the event in 2017. However, according to the recent reports, the company has changed the Samsung Galaxy S8 release date.

The move has been confirmed by Koh Dong-Jin, the President of the company. He said that the device will not be ready for the highly anticipated launch at this year’s MWC, which will kick off in February 26. However, he hasn’t said anything about the new release date, along with the reason behind the move. According to Reuters, Samsung’s effort in enhancing the safety of using its devices is the reason for delaying the release. Last year, the Galaxy Note 7 lost the trust from worldwide smartphone lovers due to the controversial battery burning issue.

“The lessons of this incident are deeply reflected in our culture and process,” said Koh. “Samsung Electronics will be working hard to regain consumer trust.”

Samsung Galaxy S8 Release Date Expected to be Scheduled on April 18th

Koh has just confirmed about the Samsung Galaxy S8 Release Date delay. However, the move had been first revealed a few days ago by Naver, a South Korean website. It claimed that the device would be revealed in March at a special event in New York. The next-gen smartphone was said to hit the market on April 18th. Yes, it’s a significant delay with respect to the release date of its predecessor. However, all the other previous models, including Galaxy S4 and S5, went for sale in April. So, Samsung is not breaking the traditional release pattern of its flagship phone. Rather, it is returning to it.
